However, these machines also have different specifications, and finding the one you really want can make it a tedious and time-consuming process.

Sure, you can look through every used hydraulic press out there, but there's no way to know if it will last you a long time. You will be risking your hard-earned money on a used condition- is it really worth the risk?

What's more, you won't have any type of warranty, or there might be warranty but it's severely limited to the seller's terms, which means you'll be left hanging when the time comes that you do need it.
 

2. Not Getting Exactly What You Need in a Hydraulic Press

Hydraulic presses are specialized equipment, and it's okay to think that you can sub out your old machine and hope to get a used one that's exactly the same.

But therein lies the issue- custom equipment were created to do a specific job the first time they were made. Buying a used hydraulic press to fill in a custom job will most likely end in you not using the machine as much (because you discovered it's not so useful for your needs), or not using it at all.
